Camp is such a great place! There is fun to be had all the time. One of my favorite games is candybar kickball. We play during rec time in the evenings. The game is kickball, except the campers get a candybar if they make it to home plate. The staff play outfield. My first time playing was last Monday. It is tons of fun. The girl staff were on the campers team so we were keeping the ball away from the guy staff so that the kids would have a better chance of getting to home plate. Unfortunately for me, I am competitive and so are the guys. We were nearing the end of the game and I was running to kick the ball farther into the outfield. As I went to kick the ball I was suddenly taken down by the guys director diving to grab the ball. Let me just say, he hits hard! My left knee dislocated and I was on the ground. It hurt, but I figured I'd walk it off. However, when I stood up and put weight on my leg, the knee popped out again. I must say that seeing that was much worse than the pain of it popping out. I sat down again and was picked up in a golf cart and driven to the nurses lodge. It certainly made for an interesting start to the week.
I went to the doctor on Tuesday and was recommended to get an MRI. I had the MRI a week later and yesterday I learned that I tore my ACL and Meniscus in my left knee. Not the news I wanted. So I am now home with my knee propped up, ice on it, and ibuprofen in my system. Mom is working hard to get me set up with a practice here so that I can have surgery.
In the midst of all this, I am grateful for workman's comp, my supportive family, and all my friends who are still at camp that were so sweet!
The following pictures are from my day off with Olivia and Emily 2 days after I was tackled. And pictures of my awesome robo cop brace.

And the reason for the brace.
