I absolutely LOVE the 4th of July. Ever since I was little, my favorite part of the summer was going out on the boat to watch fireworks over the lake. Or on those two rainy occasions, going down to the church to watch the fireworks and lightning take turns lighting up the sky.
This 4th of July however, I am spending my second summer ever away from Lake Lure and the beautiful mountains that echo the fireworks so beautifully. Yes 20 out of 22 years is a pretty good record for being in the same place on the same day each year. Sadly, this will be the first 4th that celebration is not the only thing on my mind. I have an anatomy test this Friday and though tomorrow is a holiday for LLU, it will not be a complete holiday for me and many of my classmates.
This week is the killer. After the 24 muscle origin, insertion, nerve, nerve roots, and actions that they each do everything else is easy peasy. Well, mostly. But of course, the one week we should have a break everything is hard! I must say I have a pretty good head start on the muscles and can successfully write out about 18 of the 24 start to finish. Sadly this is not good enough and so tomorrow will be spent lounging by the pool, with my review cards, hitting the lab at noon till 4 when the TA's will have it open, and hopefully finding a place to watch some fireworks.
Though I won't get to celebrate in my usual way this year, no one will be saying I didn't get into the spirit of things as you will see in the pictures below! Yes my family is HUGE on holidays, and I am no exception. Any reason to celebrate, decorate, and dress up, I will go all out!
And the preparation begins
Pool wear
Fun toes!
And of course the fingers!!!
Happy 4th of July to you all! I hope you all get into the spirit of freedom and celebration as much as I plan to! :)
