24 hours of driving in 4 day, Heck yes!

So Wednesday night I randomly text my cousin K hoping to get a response, and boy did I ever! She, jokingly, mentioned that her family was headed to Sacramento and then up to Medford, Oregon this week. They were flying in on Thursday night and sarcastically said, hey you should come meet us. Haha. Well I took the invitation literally and looked up the hours to Sacramento and then to Medford.

In case anyone is wondering, it's only 7 hours to Sacramento from LLU and then about 5 more up to Medford. A total of 12 hours.

I have Fridays off this summer session and figured, hey why not drive up there and meet them for the weekend. I'll have 2 full days before I have to drive back. And so I did.

The drive isn't particularly pretty between LLU and Sacramento, but I must say the hours were well worth it! However, I am safely back to school and I'll be ready to get started on the second week of these classes after a little studying for my quiz.

While I was with my lovely cousins, I saw the famous huge sundial in Redding, CA, the charming town of Medford, OR, the supposedly impressive Crater Lake (it was smokey and we couldn't really see the blueness of the water, sad), and Diamond Lake, as well as the entire upper 2/3 of the California valley.

The RV they rented to camp in.

Little miss sunshine

Mt. Shasta

 The semi-blue Crater Lake

Island in the middle of Crater Lake (and smoke)

We got to play in the snow at Crater Lake

The water was FREEZING!!

"Is the water cold?", "It's not warm"-- answer from a 2 year old. Haha!

Sunset over Diamond Lake, totally made up for the smoke at Crater!

Shakespeare was pretty popular in both Medford and apparently Ashland.

I'm sooooo very glad that I took the spontaneous trip, even though it was a ton of driving!

  1. Your pictures are BEAUTIFUL, Cass! The drive may have been ugly, but you sure got to see some pretty stuff! And little girl is still cute as ever. So glad you got to see them... even though you ARE crazy. :)
