THE END!!!

Finally the 7 week anatomy boot camp has come to a close. Some say this is bittersweet, but I can think of nothing bitter about it! I am jazzed to be done with the first class of my DPT program and cannot believe how fast 7 weeks have flown by!

To celebrate the long weekend off after the final tests, 2 friends and I headed to Victoria Gardens both for a celebratory meal and some shopping. We ate at CPK, (California Pizza Kitchen), hit several fun shops, and enjoyed each other’s company on a Thursday afternoon. We also got to step in a Starbucks without hunkering down to study. It was quite a treat to put my huge binder up on the shelf for a final time!

Kels, Case, Cass :)

Casey buckled up with all 3 seat belts. Haha!

Now, Thursday was fun, but Friday was the highlight of my time in California so far. Katrina, Casey, and I headed down to Yorba Linda to meet up with Stephanie and head on to Newport Beach. We loaded lunches, boogie boards (thanks to Steph and her family!), water, umbrellas, towels, and other beach necessities into Steph’s car and headed for the beach! We got there slightly after noon, but quickly made our way onto the sand and set up camp. After spraying down with sunscreen and letting it dry we hit the water. The waves were spectacular! I was all about the boogie boarding and had an amazing time riding the waves with my girls! We took a break for lunch and some volleyball on the beach. I have to say running through sand is not my strong point.

More time was spent in the water battling the waves and taking the big ones in on the boogie boards. We were super lucky and saw 5 dolphins out maybe 100 feet from shore. At least 4 of them rode in on a wave, the water was so clear you could clearly see them inside the wave and then jump out at the last second! It was sooooo fun!! Definitely an amazing day overall.

Yay for boogie boards!

Slightly windy

Steph's amazing pool!

Pretty California flowers :)

Tiki bar and pool. So much fun!

Sabbath was equally as nice! I went to ReLive with Casey and Justin, then church. It’s campmeeting season at LLUC. Which apparently means Friday night and Sabbath meetings for the entire month of August. The sermon was super cool and really well presented!

After church I headed to lunch at Casey’s house with a bunch of PT and OT people. We ate, enjoyed chocolate chip cookies, and relaxed together. I left around 4:30 to take a nap (still pretty sore and tired from the boogie boarding adventure). And concluded my night with a JAG marathon.

Then to bed I went to get ready for my Sunday morning adventure.
