Christmas in....September!

Well a week later.... I thought I'd share the early Christmas that the first year DPTs got a week ago. We have a class called Therapeutic Procedures. We pretty much learn a lot about different procedures that we might have to perform as PTs whether it be measuring how much flexion a patient has or taking a blood pressure reading. All of these things require equipment that very few, if any, of us know how to operate going into the class let alone own. So in order to be prepared and knowledgable therapists we get our own stuff! We got a stethoscope, BP cuff, finger pulse ox, goniometers, tape measure, theraband set, a gate belt, and a nifty bag with our names on it to keep it all in. Needless to say, we felt like it was Christmas getting all our stuff even though the truth is it's for a class so that we don't fail out of PT school. Haha. At least they make things interesting for us some of the time :)

Yay!!!

Lovely gate belt for patient safety

Looking very official :)

I suppose that's the most exciting thing that's happened recently, besides the spontaneous beach trip that I posted about last week. I am very ready for the real Christmas when I get to head back to good ole' NC. But for now I'll take what I can get!
