This Thanksgiving was the first ever that I was not home with my family. Though I was sad and definitely missed the normal traditions I had a beautiful day with my cousin's family and some of their friends!
I left for Tacoma, WA on Tuesday and after a delayed plane finally got to SeaTac around 11:30pm. Amy grabbed me from the airport and we headed home. Wednesday I woke to children's giggling. Ana and Isaac are just about the cutest kids you can imagine! Though shy at first they warmed right up and we had a blast playing all sorts of games! Cars, treat shop, crazy eights, and more!
While in Tacoma Amy, Ana, and I made a trip to the American Girl Doll Store. This was the dream of my childhood and it was probably my favorite part of the trip! We spent a really long time looking at the dolls, their accessories, and everything that was around the store! We even got to eat lunch at the American Girl Doll bistro that is inside the store! That was super fun, they let Ana borrow a doll to eat with and everything. Super cool experience!
Thanksgiving was a new experience for me. We spent it in the worship building with a couple other families. The hope was that those without family or a place to go would be able to join us for dinner. No one ended up coming, but I still enjoyed doing crafts with the kids and learning a couple new games with the girls ;)
Friday was quite rainy and cold, so we put up Christmas decorations! It was so fun sharing the joy with the kids! They made it magical, like it's supposed to be! The house officially sparkles! The beautiful lights and ornaments are spectacular!
Sabbath was spent having the full Tacoma experience! We explored the Chinese reconciliation park along the water, I was shown Point defiance, we ate at a local restaurant for lunch and then played games at home and tried to stay warm. We hit up a game night with a massive game of pictionary and it was again established how bad I am at drawing. :)
And now I'm at the airport getting ready to board my plane back to warm and sunny California. I wish I had another week to stay and hang out with this amazing family! But I will be glad to spend the last 3 weeks of school in the warm! Then it'll be home for Christmas!!!
