Thursday :)

Today seemed to be one of the more ominous Thursdays in my life. The realization that I will be leaving home for 6 whole months in only 2 days hit me extremely hard this morning when I finally pulled myself out of bed. Because of the realization I was a bit slow getting my act together and DJ and I made it out the door just in time to make my appointment with the Best Buy Geek Squad.

My car radio has been acting up for about 2 years now after an extremely hot trip down to Myrtle beach with the besties. The air conditioner decided to spill water all down my dash and across (and probably into) my beautiful radio. After coaxing the sopping radio to work again, I have battled with garbled sound and complete silence at times. This was all to be remedied today at Best Buy.

After leaving the car off, the brobie and I headed up to the mall. Thankfully it's only a quick walk up the side of a cliff to get there (I might be slightly exaggerating). We hit up Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, and Pac Sun where DJ got a new tank top. He seems to think he's Steve McGarrett from Hawaii 5-0. After tromping around for about an hour we got a call to head back down the incline to Best Buy.

I was told that unfortunately, the amplifier on my car was bad. No surprise considering the car is about 15 years old. After deciding that a 30 minute rerouting of the wires would essentially fix my garbled or silent radio we headed into Best Buy to kill some time. An hour and thirty minutes later we finally got a call that  the amp and all 8 speakers are working and the radio is actually what's dead.

Now who would have thought that a radio that had water dumped on it might be the problem? Anyone? Anyone? Oh yeah! The girl who brought the car in and told you that water had spilled all over the radio right before it quit working. Who says girls know nothing about cars? Well, that might be true, but I do know that water and electronics usually don't mix very well. Turns out I am correct.

So after buying a new radio to put in the car, and paying $0 for labor we finally headed out to find some food and head home :)

Yum Zaxby's!

This isn't all that happened today though, oh no! I got to have supper with Amanda! We roomed together at SAU for a semester and had an absolute blast! I'm so blessed to have her in my life to help feed my Panera addiction and to just have fun with. She's always up for something new or spontaneous and I'm going to miss her so so much while in Cali. But we had a great time, as always, and parted ways promising to write to each other on very expensive stationary. Hopefully texting will actually work instead, we shall see.

After leaving Amanda, I did the unthinkable. I headed to Sam's Club. After so much time at Best Buy my interest had been extremely peaked by the Canon Rebels they had on display. And knowing that Sam's often has bundles that turn out to be cheaper than Best Buy I had to check those out online when I got home. Of course I saw a pretty good deal and decided I couldn't resist. So in this last grad/birthday/moving present for myself, I bought a Rebel T3. Not the newest or most superb camera, but one that will definitely suit my purposes just fine! I'm sooooo insanely excited about this camera I can't even describe it!

So after a rather tiresome day of goodbyes, good fixes, and major purchases, I still have to finish packing the last 2 boxes and get everything ready to ship out tomorrow morning. This last Thursday has been bitter sweet and I couldn't have asked for a better one. And now onto tomorrow, the last day home.
